An interesting record has been unearthed relative to ownership of the Southbridge landfill website, Southbridgedump.org; a site dedicated to “educating” people about the proposed increase in Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) at said landfill. I have visited the sites several times and was under the impression that it was developed and maintained by concerned Southbridge residents. Such, may not exclusively be the case, as the site seems to be registered to Sturbridge Selectman Ted Goodwin.

Certainly nothing illegal here as I maintain a website myself, although there is certainly no ambiguity about ownership of my site. It does however, appear a bit disingenuous for this individual to be involved with any “official” discussions with Southbridge town officials relative to this issue, should such occur, while secretly maintaining a website dedicated to defeating the landfill expansion. Additionally, one might draw the conclusion that it appears Mr. Goodwin has been a bit less than forthcoming on this issue. It certainly begs the question; What else has Mr. Goodwin been less than forthcoming on? I can certainly think of a few things.

As I have stated several times, I support the cause; but the continuing, overshadowing involvement of S.O.S. in a leadership role, diminishes the credibility of any good intentions. One would suggest that jettisoning that level of involvement on the part of S.O.S. would surely help to re-establish the cause’s credibility.

Here then is the information that seems to suggest Ted as the owner of the site. Again nothing illegal here, I’m just passing on information that is readily available and you the reader can determine its relevancy and accuracy, or lack thereof. It may prove to be nothing more than a hoax, but then again maybe not. I will let others address that.
