WWTF Recommendation From The Sturbridge Finance Committee
Available on the Sturbridge town website, is the full recommendation from the Sturbridge Finance Committee. Here is an interesting excerpt:
The Town is obligated to provide sewer service to certain houses and unbuilt lots. That obligation brings to 830,000 gallons, as a per-day average, as calculated for 12 consecutive months, the committed capacity for the new plant (that is, the current 750,000 gallons plus the obligation totals 830,000). That means a 1 mgd plant could be operating at more than 80% of its capacity on the day it opens. In that event, the U.S. Environmental Protection Administration would immediately require Sturbridge to develop a new plan, or the Selectmen would be required to impose another moratorium on sewer hookups. That circumstance is precisely where the Town finds itself right now.
Voting for the 1.0 mgpd plant is completely foolish and is simply a short-sighted way of restricting residential and commercial growth in the town of Sturbridge. Also, I noticed the Sturbridge town web site has the Halterman Question & Opinion article represented as “Board of Selectmen Position On Wastewater Plant”. Notice the last line of the “position” article:
This statement is endorsed by Selectmen Halterman, White & Goodwin, it is not endorsed by Selectmen Blanchard & Garieri.
This should never have been posted under this title if not endorsed by all Selectmen. Also, it should not have been posted if a position was not also available from Blanchard and Garieri. Kudos to Mr. Halterman for manipulating the town’s website to his advantage.
You can leave a response, or trackback from your own site.

Bob Hightower’s interview with Wally from “Farting Out Loud in Sturbridge”.
BH: Hello Wally, how are you?
Wally: Hey dude, I’m groovy. You like my new Grateful Dead T-shirt?
BH: Not really, but anyway, I have some questions for you.
Wally: Cool man.
BH: What inspired you to start your blog?
Wally: Sweet question dude. I don’t know. What else are you gonna do in town, shop, catch a movie, hell, I don’ even have a sewer connection.
BH: There is another blog in town that averages 10-15 responses per article and I noticed you get zero comments on your articles. What’s the deal?
Wally: Oh, Mr. C. Yeah, that dude is real smart and he does a lot of research and uses those things called facts. I don’t have time for that non-sense. I like writing about Tonka trucks and how I love seeing little kids on swings.
BH: It seems like the only people that read your website are SOS people, are you SOS?
Wally: Those SOSer’s are far out dude, good peeps. Thanks for asking dude.
BH: Okay? What’s up with those crazy pictures on your website?
Wally: Which website? What pictures?
BH: Farting out loud.
Wally: Oh yeah, you scared me for a minute. I take pictures of a rock 37 miles in the woods in some obscure area and ask people to guess where it is. No one ever figures it out. One time I had some dude scuba dive to the bottom of Pistol Pond in Sturbridge and take a picture of a fish. I put the picture of it on my site and no one could figure it out. It was pretty sweet.
BH: I saw your site today and you have a picture of a mailbox and then your are quoted as saying, “more to come, I’m gonna be a real beaut this time”. Can you speculate?
Wally: Duuuuuude, I’m gonna help Teddy’s mommy fabricate a story, that’s all I can say right now dude.
BH: Who is Teddy?
Wally: Come on dude, he’s far out. He’s the man, my top dawg. His mommy is wicked cool. One time she violated a Federal Law and got away with it. Good stuff bro.
BH: You don’t have a problem with people breaking the law?
Wally: Dude, I’m a rebel. You should have known me in the 60’s.
BH: What is that awful smell? I’m out of here.
Wally: Hey, I’m just farting out loud in Sturbridge. See ya dude!!

Creepy Cream: Hey man, like the pix I drawed all by myself? It was after a mean court guy didn’t believe me.
Therapist: Tell me about your childhood.
Creepy Cream: Sorry, I can’t do it. That’s where I learned to drawed them pictures. Mine is much better than Wally’s. Check it out: http://bp0.blogger.com/_mAQbIwdJgTg/R2xyhWuFAaI/AAAAAAAAAJA/KhPauhx_KWE/S241/courtroom.gif

Remember the Badwins have spread false information on all the issues for tomorrow night’s meeting. Not to mention, they recently committed a federal offense. Don’t fall for their bull. Vote for 1.3 WWTP. Vote to change Route 15. AND most importantly, vote to have the Badwins removed from this town!

Hightower- Thanks for Wally’s interview. As a parent, I have to say, his article entitled “Empty Swings and Quiet Streets” really made me nervous.

Glad I wasn’t the only one who was bothered by that post. Maybe that person should stop thinking out loud.

When I came to this blog, I expected to read serious news: “Welcome to www.newsotronic.com - striving to be the best choice for local news” - that is your headliner, right Patrick?
This blog and its commentary reads exactly like the T&G commentary, and moreso, like Creamers blog. Is this a cloned Creamer blog? Is he your mentor or something? Don’t you know that most of those comments at T&G and at Creamers blog are His Highness himself?
Come on Patrick, you can do better!
That farting out loud dialogue is so cutting edge; I can tell you’re striving to be the best source of local news.
Well, I hope you stay in your own stinky corner, because it’s only your closest friends that will put up with such stink! And sadly, you won’t make any new friends either. I’ll not visit here again.
